A 20' unit (20' long x 8' wide x 9' tall) can typically hold
the contents of a 2-3 bedroom home. A 40' unit, twice as long, can
accommodate the contents of a larger 3-4 bedroom home or even multiple
households.
Here's a
more detailed breakdown:
20' Unit:
Suitable for a 2–3 bedroom home, often used for moderate
storage or renovations. It has an interior volume of around 1, 500 cubic
feet.
40’ unit:
Ideal for larger homes (3-4 bedrooms), or when your simply
have a lot of items to store. Its interior volume is roughly 3, 000 cubic
feet.
10’ unit:
A good option for smaller storage needs. Can fit the
contents of a small apartment.
Factors
to consider when estimating:
Household size:
The number of bedrooms is a good starting point, but the
amount of furniture and personal belongings varies greatly.
Furniture size and arrangement:
Bulky items like sofas, beds, and large appliances will take
up more space. Consider how organized you are when packing.
Seasonal items and outdoor furniture:
If you have a lot of items that are not used year-round, you
may need additional space.
